Famous advertising photographer Andrzej Dragan and JWT Amsterdam have developed a bright advertising campaign for a brand of sports footwear.

Converse Advertising Drive

Presentation sneakers as an outer clothing continues advertising strategy of the company chosen some years ago.

Converse Advertising Drive

The images created by Dragan — the revolutionary, asocial type, bubble-girl and a victim of beauty — precisely get to target audience. They are really great!

Converse Advertising Drive

The Polish photographer Andrzhej Dragan makes photos during free time from physics. Yes, he teaches physics at the Warsaw University and even has got some awards in this area. But when you look at these beautiful photos, you start understanding his creative nature!

Converse Advertising Drive

Converse is more than just footwear. It is a history of legendary sportsmen, innovators united together by love to sports. And this history proceeds almost whole century. When Marquis M. Converse has opened Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908 he could hardly imagine that his label would become a cult for America.

Converse presents one of the best movie about basketball!
“Blue Chips” is a drama movie about the basketball directed by William Friedkin and debuted in 1994. The movie is starring the real-life basketball stars Shaquille O’Neal and Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway. This movie was filmed in Frankfort, Indiana.

University basketball turns out to become a business

The main character of this story is the professional coach Pete Bell (Nick Nolte) who is trying to obtain the 100% efficiency from his players. Having not reached the target he vents his spleen upon the bench. So he gets the repute of cranky coach and absolutely incapable person.

University basketball turns out to become a business. Against the set rules the universities hunt for excellent professional school players, try to graft them and gain them over. College where the coach Bell works has many rich graduating students who propose him to cross the rules and gather the team with high-class players. He asks: “You took the purest thing in your life and corrupted it, for what? For what?”

Because of having lost his authority and problems in private life the coach agrees and accepts the proposition. But will he be able to step over his pride training the people who are interested only in money and gain? Such people don’t like the basketball, it’s not their style of life – it’s just a method to get more profit.

In the “Blue Chips” movie we can see the perfect actors’ play and even some of the sportsmen (I mean Shaquille O’Neal) will become the famous players after starring in this movie. “Blue Chips” is a very interesting film with typical characters but excellent plot. I think it’s sufficiently bold movie which brings many things to light and if I\m not wrong the story is real one. I watched this movie in a burst of inspiration.

The coach of basketball team finds himself in front of big dilemma: playing with previous lineup may cause the failure but involving new players is impossible without crossing the rules.

“Boys, the rules don't make much sense. But I believe in the rules. Some of us broke them. I broke them. I can't do this. I can't win like this.”

Bell says: “Boys, the rules don’t make much sense. But I believe in the rules. Some of us broke them. I broke them. I can’t do this. I can’t win like this.”

Don Haskins who in 1966 took only African-American players in the team (it was a revolutionary innovation) and as a result he led them to the victory in the championship …

The “Glory Road” movie was directed by James Gartner and debuted in USA in 2006.

However players with white color of a skin do not strongly aspire to leave for the western Texas so the coach had to pay his attention to the black men playing basketball. There was the middle of 60th years and black basketball players in a team were only the necessity of justifying racial «non-discrimination». «The game was created for white people, and it exists only for them» —so coach Haskins did in defiance to this rule. He proved that there is no matter of what color of skin the player had, what his level of education was and what religion he confessed. He saw only important things — speed, talent and ability to work in a team.

Trainings were extremely tiresome for players, but all that was done to make the game easy, to teach them fastness and self-mastery. The team of Haskins though opened the season but caused many racist attacks. But the players of this team were good sportsmen and did not pay any attention to other people’s opinion. They were taught by the best trainer. And they could prove their superiority only by playing and winning.

Trying to reach the NCAA finals which were going to be held at College Park, Maryland, they faced University of Kentucky. That team was a top-ranking one playing under the direction of legendary coach Adolph Rupp (Jon Voight). “Wildcats” were better experienced and all of them were white. On the eve of the game Haskins gathered the whole team into the big empty sports ground and declared about his decision to take only African-American players for that game. And even white players reacted very well. So the coach was right – it worked. They won the championship!

Don Haskins has destroyed a stereotype about “white” basketball, having defined a direction of basketball development. Having won a large quantity of games and some championships, he became a legend.

When you playing basketball you feel the ball, the game, the rivals but you forget about everything else. And only when you are set down on the reserved bench then you remember that

you’re alive, that you have family, sweetheart, friends..

The characters of this basketball movie forget about everything when they’re playing. But leaving the sports ground they keep on being true to the game not to themselves. They hardly can say each other how many feeling and emotions live in their hearts. They used to be strong and to hide their feelings behind the game.

But once all that things, so ordinary style of life disappear. And after that the basketball loses its sense. When they are staying behind the gulf so they come to understanding how illusory their dreams were. So they start to differentiate the game and real life…

The line is the love story. Monika and Quinsy know each other from their childhood. Many years ago he was stroke with the fact that girl could play basketball even better than he. So they became friend and some time later – lovers. But to reach a success Quinsy left Monika. He dreamt of becoming a famous basketball player as his father did. But now, when he is already a professional player the destiny gives him a chance to correct the biggest mistake of his life and to make Monika be back…

So the basketball broke the two people in love off and brought them together.

Desson Howe – American film critic – wrote about the movie: “Love and Basketball’ had moments of such tenderness and sophistication, complimented by such romantic dreaminess between lead performers Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan.
This movie is a real masterpiece! It is based on the true events. First of all I can say that “Above the Rim” is one of the best 2Pac movie produced in the best traditions of Hip-Hop style. This story is about the life of black blocks usually named ghetto, about gangsters and ordinary people who love basketball. This movie half-opens the curtain hiding authentic America about which we do know nothing.

“Above the Rim” premiered in US in 1994. It directed by Jeff Pollack and is starring Duane Martin, Leon Robinson, Tupac Shakur, Marlon Wayans and Christopher Andrews.

A lot of Hip-Hop stars took part in “Above the Rim” movie. This is the criminal drama with sports elements. It’s the best movie in Old School genre. After watching this film we come to understanding why teenagers from bad poor blocks have almost no chances to live normal lives.

But being true with yourself can help you reach your aim.

The line of the plot is the relationships between a promising New York City high school basketball star and his relationships with two people; one a drug dealer and the other a basketball player working now as a security guard at his former high school.

All of them are fond of basketball. A lot of tragic events, unsafe moments follow these guys. But after the death of one of them (Birdie) the others Nutso and Shep cannot bear the thought of playing again…

“Above the Rim” premiered in US in 1994. It directed by Jeff Pollack and is starring Duane Martin, Leon Robinson, Tupac Shakur, Marlon Wayans and Christopher Andrews.

The most interesting character for me became Duane Martin and Tupac, I think, played just himself as he was in real life.

The film was released on March 23, 1994, grossing $3,738,800 on opening weeked. At the end of its theatrical run, it had grossed a total of $16,192,320.

In 1995 the soundtrack from the “Above the Rim” movie was nominated as the best song for MTV Movie Awards. Here you can read more and download basketball movies

Many people think that this film exactly reflects the tragic life of Tupac. If you like street games, hip-hop music, basketball and dramatic stories you should obviously watch this movie!

He dreamt of being deaf-and-dumb, of living in a hut on the forest border…Now he is old, deaf and living in the woods surrounding, his hunt has become his stronghold, and only occasional stranger can see this man in passing. He is the legend but nobody knows what kind on life he lives…

This is the begging of so popular American drama basketball movie named “Finding Forrester”.

This Converse movie is a touching story about famous author who lives the life of a recluse and young boy who’s able to win the heart of the hermit.

This guy Jamal lives in his own world. He is poor by birth, he is not blazing with intellect, but he

knows what life is and he has his system of values. Jamal is a real basketball nut, he plays well and likes basketball most of all. He lives among simple folk, that guys are proud of finding themselves in police district; they are “bad” boys but excellent sportsmen.

And if there any chance to break out from this style of life, to implement your potential?

Jamal gets such a chance. He receives the invitation to enter another, more prestigious school. But how you can make a choice between old life and new one? How you can leave your stereotypes? It’s really difficult but it’s the one way out.

Finding Forrester (2000)

And the fortune pushes him. He meets the person who will play the great role in his life. Forrester is the old writer who lives far from civilization. This man shows the right way to Jamal. He shows the boy that his real mission to write books.

Forrester: No thinking – that comes later. You must write your first draft with your heart. You rewrite with your head. The first key to writing is… to write, not to think!

They become big friends; they become parts of each other lives.

Afterwards, Forrester thanks Jamal and tells him of his desire to return to his homeland of Scotland. And Jamal becomes a writer and thanks Forrester for teaching him.

“Finding Forrester” is a good story debuted in US in 2000. It was nominated for many awards. It’s the favorite basketball movie for many people in the world and for me too.

It went on to gross $51,804,714 domestically and $28,245,050 from the Foreign market for a worldwide total of $80,049,764. Watch and download “Finding Forrester” here.

“Coach Carter” is an American drama. It directed by Tomas Carter and is starring Samuel L. Jackson in association with Paramount Pictures. The film based on a true story about Richmond High School and its basketball coach Ken Carter. He put the new strict rules for players.

When Carter started to coach the team began to win all the matches. Many legends were talked about this coach. He made the basketball team undefeated. But once Carter got to know that one of his players didn’t agreed the Academic results. So he battened down and made an extraordinary decision.

Coach Carter (2005)

His command really was almost invincible and confidently went to a victory in the championship when once on the eve of a responsible match the trainer locked children in sports hall and did not to continue struggle… So he said that he worried not only about the games results but about the future of his team. He wanted all the team members to become a clever and talented people and good basketball players of course. After such strict measures he found his players sitting at the gym and tutoring with teachers. So Carter who was already ready to leave decided to stay with his team thanking the players. In the last game Crane makes the winning shot to end Richmond’s season.

During the closing song it was shown how six players from the Carter’s team joined basketball college team.

There were many argues about such drastic action of coach Carter. He is very principal person so I think he was right and he reached his aim, he could make his team the best one without losses for study.

“Coach Carter” debuted in 2005 in U.S. This basketball movie has become one of the most popular stories.

It became #1 in the United States box office and has grossed over $67,264,877. But it didn’t become so popular overseas. But I think every basketball fan should watch it.

If you want to know more about this movie you can read about it on Paramount official web site, there you can also join the fan group of the “Coach Carter” movie.
