  Misleading…perhaps…interesting…for sure.  Okay, so it’s been a long week at school so I though I’d take a lighter tone for Friday’s post.  Here a few pics I got from Yahoo.com of LeBron’s  Bike-a-Thon.  Now I am not exactly sure what LeBron is doing, but LeBron Jr. seems to be having a ball.  That probably has a lot do with the fact that he’s wearing some high top Chucks.  You can see them much better in the second picture.  So maybe someday when LeBron Jr. is old enough to hoop for cash, he can take the court in the Star and Chevron of Converse.   Sometimes I see something that just warms my feet, or is that my heart?  Either way a few days ago I came across these photos over at UniWatchblog.com.  This would be Josh Maravich, son of the legend Pistol Pete Maravich.  He recently played in a LSU alumni game and decided to rock his Father’s floppy socks with some Chucks.   Welcome to the Converse Blog’s Friday Flashback.  Today’s post is a unique Canvas converse shoe from way back in the day.  It features a two stripe pattern on the upper with a extra layer of Rubber with the V logo.  It almost looks like an outrigger that you see on Converse shoes today.  It has a strong looking rubber toe cap like you would find on Chucks.  However, it features a sturdy extra ankle padding.  Aside from the arrangement of the upper there isn’t really anything I haven’t seen in some form on a Converse shoe before.  (More …)

  The Converse Blog’s Friday Flashback: Chucks’ Golfer.

  Good and happy Friday to each and everyone of you. It’s been a crazy a few days for me and I am glad to get back to posting on the blog. I still can’t say what went down, I just don’t want to jinx it, but I hope by Monday that I can speak about it. Before we get to the blog I’ve got to post some bad news. If you haven’t heard by now, Derrick Rose signed a contract with Adidas the other day. Now I don’t know how serious a chance that Converse had to sign Rose, but I really had my hopes up. At the end of the day it has now been 17 years since Converse signed the #1 draft pick. This hasn’t always been a bad thing (Kwame Brown), but I do hope it’s a streak that can end next year. Now, let’s get back to the blog and today’s Friday Flashback. (More …)

  The Converse Blog’s Friday Flashback: Michael Jordan Team USA

  Happy 4th of July, which is without question the most important American Holiday. The only problem is, July 2nd 1776 is the actual day that the Continental Congress actually voted for independence. The written Declaration of Independence was dated July 4 but wasn’t actually signed until August 2. Fifty-six delegates eventually signed the document, although all were not present on that day in August. By the way, I put in an application for a social studies teaching position yesterday. I don’t know what that means for the blog, maybe I’ll just have to post at night. Anyway….today’s flashback is all about the Red, White, and Blue! (More …)

  Happy Monday! Today I’ve got a real treat, the Converse Pro Leather Canvas. Granted that sound really weird to say, you know the whole leather/canvas thing. There are obvious difference between them, but I can’t think of another way to describe it. They are canvas with Chucks midsole and outsole, but with a canvas Pro Leather designed upper.
