Converse presents one of the best movie about basketball!
“Blue Chips” is a drama movie about the basketball directed by William Friedkin and debuted in 1994. The movie is starring the real-life basketball stars Shaquille O’Neal and Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway. This movie was filmed in Frankfort, Indiana.

University basketball turns out to become a business

The main character of this story is the professional coach Pete Bell (Nick Nolte) who is trying to obtain the 100% efficiency from his players. Having not reached the target he vents his spleen upon the bench. So he gets the repute of cranky coach and absolutely incapable person.

University basketball turns out to become a business. Against the set rules the universities hunt for excellent professional school players, try to graft them and gain them over. College where the coach Bell works has many rich graduating students who propose him to cross the rules and gather the team with high-class players. He asks: “You took the purest thing in your life and corrupted it, for what? For what?”

Because of having lost his authority and problems in private life the coach agrees and accepts the proposition. But will he be able to step over his pride training the people who are interested only in money and gain? Such people don’t like the basketball, it’s not their style of life – it’s just a method to get more profit.

In the “Blue Chips” movie we can see the perfect actors’ play and even some of the sportsmen (I mean Shaquille O’Neal) will become the famous players after starring in this movie. “Blue Chips” is a very interesting film with typical characters but excellent plot. I think it’s sufficiently bold movie which brings many things to light and if I\m not wrong the story is real one. I watched this movie in a burst of inspiration.

The coach of basketball team finds himself in front of big dilemma: playing with previous lineup may cause the failure but involving new players is impossible without crossing the rules.

“Boys, the rules don't make much sense. But I believe in the rules. Some of us broke them. I broke them. I can't do this. I can't win like this.”

Bell says: “Boys, the rules don’t make much sense. But I believe in the rules. Some of us broke them. I broke them. I can’t do this. I can’t win like this.”

He dreamt of being deaf-and-dumb, of living in a hut on the forest border…Now he is old, deaf and living in the woods surrounding, his hunt has become his stronghold, and only occasional stranger can see this man in passing. He is the legend but nobody knows what kind on life he lives…

This is the begging of so popular American drama basketball movie named “Finding Forrester”.

This Converse movie is a touching story about famous author who lives the life of a recluse and young boy who’s able to win the heart of the hermit.

This guy Jamal lives in his own world. He is poor by birth, he is not blazing with intellect, but he

knows what life is and he has his system of values. Jamal is a real basketball nut, he plays well and likes basketball most of all. He lives among simple folk, that guys are proud of finding themselves in police district; they are “bad” boys but excellent sportsmen.

And if there any chance to break out from this style of life, to implement your potential?

Jamal gets such a chance. He receives the invitation to enter another, more prestigious school. But how you can make a choice between old life and new one? How you can leave your stereotypes? It’s really difficult but it’s the one way out.

Finding Forrester (2000)

And the fortune pushes him. He meets the person who will play the great role in his life. Forrester is the old writer who lives far from civilization. This man shows the right way to Jamal. He shows the boy that his real mission to write books.

Forrester: No thinking – that comes later. You must write your first draft with your heart. You rewrite with your head. The first key to writing is… to write, not to think!

They become big friends; they become parts of each other lives.

Afterwards, Forrester thanks Jamal and tells him of his desire to return to his homeland of Scotland. And Jamal becomes a writer and thanks Forrester for teaching him.

“Finding Forrester” is a good story debuted in US in 2000. It was nominated for many awards. It’s the favorite basketball movie for many people in the world and for me too.

It went on to gross $51,804,714 domestically and $28,245,050 from the Foreign market for a worldwide total of $80,049,764. Watch and download “Finding Forrester” here.

Hoosiers is one of the best basketball movies I’ve ever seen. Everybody especially that people who lived in Indiana knew what meant Hoosiers Hysteria.

This is a truly story about basketball team from a provincial secondary school of Indiana state. Those guys made their way to top ranking and went down in history of Indiana.

This basketball movie is directed by David Anspaugh. In 1987 it was nominated for 2 Oscars.

This basketball movie is directed by David Anspaugh. In 1987 it was nominated for 2 Oscars. The movie won Special Achievement Award and LAFCA Award.

Gene Hackman stared there as Norman Dale.

Dale came in the team as a new coach with disrepute. His friend Cletus offered him this job knowing it was the last chance for Norman. And it turned to be the right decision because Dale became exactly that person who brought the glory to the team.

Hickory’s community like much of the state was crazy about basketball. It was a pity that Jimmy Chitwood – the best player in town – couldn’t take part in championship. So everybody tried to make him change his mind.

Because of Dale being the bad coach many players refused to participate in training. His style of coaching was too slow and too defensive. That’s why enrollment seemed to be so small that Dale had very few players on his squad.

Norman needed a new assistant and invited for this job a well-known basketball fan named shooter. He was an alcoholic father of one of the team players. It confused the citizens and especially Shooter’s son. For “Hoosiers” there were no chances to win but at the last second Jimmy took a speech and said he was ready to play in the game but only under condition that Dale remained as a coach. From that moment Hickory became an unstoppable team. Coach Dale’s team advanced through tournament play.

Everybody was shocked getting known that the team reached the state championship. And in 1954 they won the championship cup.

So that team really came to success and could strike down any Goliath it faces.

I watched a lot of basketball movies and there are many good movies. But this one impressed me so much that I watched it again and again. The depth of psychological types and really interesting story make excellent integral movie.
