Converse NBA Player Exclusives for Elton Brand and Kirk Hinrich.

Early in the year I made mention that I thought Alando Tucker and Kyle Korver would be battling for the best colorways of Converse this year. I might have to eat some crow on that statement. Recently Elton Brand and Kirk Hinrich took to the floor wearing some fantastic PE’s. EB rocked the Red/Black/White EB2, the closest you’ll get to these is in NBA Live 10.

Krik Hinrich has been wearing the Low top version of the Weapon EVO since last years playoffs, however we haven’t seen the Red/Black/White colorway that he wore against Miami the other day. Don’t get your hopes up for this particular colorway of EVO low, just hope that Kirk wears them more often.

Converse brings us Elton Brand’s new signature shoe, the EB2!

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (October 22, 2009) – Good things happen in threes. The 2009-2010 NBA season marks three notable returns for 10-year NBA veteran Elton Brand and Converse. Brand returns healthy for his second season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Converse’s iconic Star Chevron logo is once again featured on basketball footwear, and Converse returns with another Elton Brand signature shoe called the EB2.

The EB2 is a follow-up signature basketball shoe from last year’s first-ever Elton Brand signature shoe, the EB1. After a successful year with the EB1, Converse again partners with JCPenney to offer an affordable performance basketball shoe for adults and kids.

“I grew up watching basketball’s greatest players wearing the Converse Star Chevron logo on the Weapon and the Pro Leather. To have this logo on the EB2 is a badge of honor,” said Elton Brand. “The EB2 is a great looking, affordable shoe that offers comfort and stability with the appeal of being a signature model. It’s my goal to stay healthy this season and showcase the EB2 with successful, solid time on the court.”

The EB2 is designed for basketball players who specialize in quickness, agility and versatility. The shoe is made of durable leathers for optimal support and features perforation in the toe box and midfoot, providing improved ventilation and comfort. The EB2 also includes speed lacing for a sleek look and a spat strap that provides additional lock down for enhanced support. The midsole is made of light weight EVA, while the outsole has multidirectional circle bone traction, forefoot flex groove and a decoupling heel for optimal ground contact when landing.

In addition to Converse’s Star Chevron logo, the EB2 features Elton Brand’s Converse logo, which was introduced at the start of last season.

The Converse EB2 is available now and retails for $65 in adult sizes and $50 in kid sizes. The EB2 is available exclusively at JCPenney locations nationwide and online at jcp.com and converse.com. It will roll out in three colorways this season including black/white/red, white/black/red and white/black.

The Converse Blog: Converse at Media Day(s) Vol

Well I was holding out hoping to get some pictures of any new members of Team Converse. However, media day pictures are really slow coming out this year, I would even say painfully slow. Anyway, here is what we’ve got so far. Dwyane Wade below is wearing a PE version of one of his 3 team shoes this year with the Team Wade Clutch. Udonis Haslem is also pictured below, well sort of, and he is wearing a PE version of the 0100. Then you’ll see Elton Brand wearing the EB1. After that everyone you see is wearing the Converse Assist in PE versions.

The Converse Blog’s Weapon Wednesday: Slim Weapon + Elton Brand update

You’ve seen Weapons and you’ve seen the Poor Man’s Canvas Weapons….well if they mated you’d get today’s Weapon Wednesday. I am calling these the Converse Weapon Slim, but that’s just because I don’t have an official name and that’s the best I could come up with. These shoes are for those of you that like the look of the Weapon but don’t want to feel of a basketball shoe. They’re also for those of you that enjoy the Chuck Taylor mid-outsole but want a little more support for your ankles. Also these shoes are for everyone else, for various other reason.

If you remember back a few weeks ago when I posted pictures from Elton Brand’s initial photo shoot with 76ers…go ahead think back. At the time I questioned if Mr. Brand was in fact wearing his own signature Converse shoe. Well it turns out that he will have his own signature and it will be sold at exclusively at JC Penny for $65. You can read more about it by going over to Dime Magazine. The Converse Blog: Elton Brand

So I leave on vacation for a week and Elton Brand signs with the 76ers. Then when I get home I see that Converse has finally publicly acknowledged that they signed Elton Brand, last year. However, it is only on one of their new Micro-sites. You can find it by going to the site It’s Been Way Too Long. I won’t spoil it for you, but it already has me fired up for next season.

This also fires me up, a potential Elton Brand signature shoe. It also could be a player exclusive colorway of a new Converse shoe. Either way it is a sneaker that I haven’t seen before. At first I thought it was the 099 but then I actually looked at it and realized that it wasn’t. Then I found these other views of the shoe the really got me excited.
